Wedding Venues in East Sussex

The Star has a room for every occasion and every wedding party. Whether you are looking to have a small intimate wedding or something larger we have a variety of venues, each with their own character.

Capella

The largest of our function spaces and can accommodate up to 120 guests on twelve round tables of ten.  Most of our guests enjoy their wedding breakfast in this room.  It has character beams and a warm traditional atmosphere.  There is a permanent wooden dance floor for your evening entertainment.  Having a civil licence for the Capella, enables you to have your ceremony here depending upon your daytime numbers.

Heritage Room

Located in the oldest part of the building, dating back over 800 years the Heritage Room certainly offers charm and character. The feature fireplace is a key focal point along with the original Tudor-style beamed ceilings and walls. Licensed for ceremonies and holding up to 60 guests, it can also be used for smaller wedding breakfasts of up to 26 guests on one long table.

The Library

The Library is a room we offer on a complimentary basis to all wedding parties using the Capella for their evening reception.  It is a quaint and comfortable room located on the ground floor and a popular option for your drinks reception in the winter months or when the weather prevents the use of our Rose Garden.  The Capella and Library have an interconnecting door, allowing guests the opportunity to sit in this quieter room and still feel connected to the party in the Capella.

Rose Garden

Open from April to September, our Rose Garden is a quaint haven of colourful roses throughout the summer months.  Laid to lawn and with a focal arbour, this location is ideal for wedding drinks receptions, a great photographic opportunity or just a place to relax and enjoy a drink or cream tea.
