Attractions in East Sussex - Chaleston House

Charleston is the renowned country home of the Bloomsbury Group. Visitors can enjoy the house and artists’ garden, an exhibition gallery of fine and decorative art, a Crafts Council selected shop with applied art and books relating to Bloomsbury, a small tea room and a video presentation.

The Charleston Festival, which runs over a 10 day period at the end of May, is centred around talks and drama relating to literary, artistic and Bloomsbury themes. The festival takes place in a traditional marquee in the beautiful grounds of the farmhouse garden and regularly attracts a stimulating array of writers, performers, politicians and thinkers, both high profile and up and coming, national and international.

In 2012, the 23rd annual Charleston festival will take place from Friday 25th May to Sunday 3rd June.
